Join the award-winning team at ENR.com and ENR Magazine, the construction industry's top source of information and ideas. Your good work will be appreciated as we convey via text, audio and video the stories and vital information needed by the people and companies that create the built environment. Bring your good judgment and journalistic skills to the deals, disasters and drama of the construction scene.
The successful candidate must be able to recognize industry trends that lead to major feature stories; discuss industry issues with top executives; develop new material for ENR.com that can also be cycled into print and used in programming events; write clear, accurate copy that needs little editing; edit the work of freelancers and other staff members into near-perfect condition; package stories online and in print with photos and attention-grabbing and accurate headlines; make assignments to and supervise the work of freelancers; enrich ENR.com with multimedia and interactive features; work with video and production teams to produce business-oriented multimedia content; back up the managing senior editor of ENR.com and fill in when he/she is traveling or on vacation.
Strong candidates will also be able to work collaboratively, travel to produce stories, and write commentary and opinion pieces. Meeting deadlines under pressure is a major part of the job. And knowledge of construction, while helpful, is not mandatory.
We are part of McGraw-Hill Construction, the industry leader. The position is based at the unit’s headquarters in midtown Manhattan.
Email resume, cover letter and no more than three links or attached examples of your work to Richard Korman at kormanr@mcgraw-hill.com.
