This firm's Recruiting Communications team is looking for someone to develop and manage content on the Careers portion of their web site. The person in this position will work with the Communications team to bring to life their distinctive value proposition in an effective and innovative way on the Web site. To be effective, the Senior Web Editor will need to understand candidate needs, their competitive position in the recruiting space, and emerging web trends, as well as fully appreciate what makes this firm a compelling career choice.
Primary responsibilities of this position include: developing strategies to enhance delivery of our messaging, creating careers website content, monitoring website success, coordinating with technical teams.
Major activities include:
Ÿ Developing strategies to enhance delivery of our messaging
Ÿ Utilize feedback from candidates, Web site metrics, and team strategy sessions to identify priority improvements for the site
Ÿ Monitor Web trends to generate new ideas and ensure we incorporate best practice Web content principals
Ÿ Collaborate with recruiting teams and the Firm’s Web communications team to understand how the Web site can further help recruiters meet their recruiting goals
Ÿ Creating careers website content:
Ÿ Create new content –write new pages, sections, profiles and case studies for the Web site. This can entail:
– Interviewing consultants or clients
– Researching and analyzing facts to support the value proposition
– Sourcing feature/content ideas from throughout the Firm such as internal knowledge pieces
– Working with other teams who are writing content for the site
Ÿ Refresh existing content – update content for specific areas on the site where content needs to be renewed on a consistent basis
Ÿ Edit content – as part of the standard workflow or while working with other groups to review content they write for the site, ensure appropriate tone, grammar and messaging is being used.
Ÿ Input content on website through our content management system
Monitoring website success
Ÿ Work closely with website analytics manager to understand website usage
Ÿ Create and track appropriate metrics for success
Ÿ Integrate findings into new strategies
Coordinating with technical teams
Ÿ Review site performance and highlight/escalate any issues to proper tech team. Follow up to ensure situation is remedied quickly.
Ÿ Maintain advanced and up-to-date knowledge of the site’s content management system
Ÿ Collaborate with developers to introduce new functionality on the site
Ÿ Collaborate with graphics specialists to create new images for the site
Desired candidate profile
The right individual for this role will ideally have:
Ÿ Very strong written communication skills, including experience writing and editing articles (ideally for the Web)
Ÿ Good experience (2 + years) creating successful visitor experiences on the Web
Ÿ Strong management and organization skills, and ability to execute/‘make things happen’
Ÿ Good oral communication skills and presence that enable the candidate to interact effectively with recruiting teams and recruiters around the Firm
Ÿ Good problem solving skills, notably ability to draw insights from candidate research/feedback, and to synthesize results and develop good recommendations.
Ÿ Ability to work collaboratively and network across many parts of the Firm
Ÿ Experience driving initiatives
